William D. Anderson, 78, of Paducah, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
William had a deep love for historical reenactments and especially enjoyed participating in the Encampment, which he attended every year. He would pitch a tent and create a campsite that reflected the life of an 1800s mountain man. While living in Illinois, he also participated in reenactments throughout the Chicago suburbs, where he enjoyed bringing history to life.
He is survived by his three sisters, Mary Ann Helland of Boaz, KY, Barbara Lynn Carsella of Herrin, IL, and Cathleen Jill Cielocha of Hibbing, Minnesota; five nieces, Jill Holan of Evansville, IN, Jeanette Tindall of St Charles, MO, Lauren Eggert of Cook, MN, Kaitlyn Havlik of Becker, MN, and Jenna Cielocha of Hibbing, MN; and one nephew, Kyle Cielocha of Milaca, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry W. Anderson and Mary Ann Ashton Anderson; and one sister, Carroll Jean Anderson.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
