Mr. Robert “Bob” Bruce LaMore, 81, of Murray, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Passion and Purpose Assisted Living.
Bob was born on September 17, 1944 in Detroit, MI to the late Robert and Mildred (Blake) LaMore. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to law enforcement, serving in Detroit during his younger years before relocating to Murray, Kentucky. After moving to Murray, he continued his career in public service and eventually retired from the Murray State Police Department.
His greatest passion, however, was sharing the love of Jesus Christ. He attended Mid-Continent Bible College and answered God's call into ministry, becoming an ordained minister. Throughout the years, he faithfully preached at several small churches throughout the region. He had a special heart for missions and found great joy in serving others.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Sharon LaMore and his parents.
Those he lovingly leaves behind include his son, Colonel Robert LaMore (Kristy) of Dayton, OH; daughters, Amy Svebbakken (Scott) of Murray, Melissa Terry (Scott) of Benton; one sister, Susan LaMore of Murray and eight grandchildren.
A public graveside service with military honors is set for 11 AM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Murray City Cemetery. Kim Reeder will officiate.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214 or Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
