Claudie Eugene “Captain Corkey” Mannon, Sr., 93, of Benton, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at his residence.
Claudie retired from James Marine where he worked as a Riverboat Captain, a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War, and a member of Faith Apostolic Church in Calvert City.
He is survived by two sons, Claudie Mannon, Jr. (Renea) of Paducah and Brian Mannon (Sandy) of Symsonia; five daughters, Glenda Mannon of Benton, Deborah Kelly of Benton, Karen Graham (Billy) of Paducah, Cathy Edwards (Jeff) of Benton, and Misty Medlin (Carl) of West Paducah; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mannon; parents, Grover Cleveland and Chloe (Williams) Mannon; five brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Faith Apostolic Church in Calvert City with Bro. James Eaves officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Carters Mill Cemetery in Symsonia.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to service time Monday at the church.
