Mr. Raymond "Ray" Hays, 66, of Murray, passed away on Friday May 22, 2020 at Murray Calloway County Hospital. Mr. Hays was born on October 22, 1953 in Charleston, MO to the late Bennie Jack and Opal Frazier Hays. He retired from the military after 21 years. Ray taught English for 15 years and retired from Caldwell County High School. He was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church, as well as, Murray State Alumni and American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Francis Hays. Surviving is his wife, Kay Hays of Murray; three daughters, Heather Ann Downey (Michael), Jennifer Rhea Hays, Deanna Maree Beane (Michael); two sons, Christopher Lynn Brooks (Lisa), Raymond Bennie Hays, Jr. (Brienna); sisters, Gail Knowles (Mike); Beth Lane (Alan), Polly Brent (Jack); 11 grandchildren, Kevin Michael Downey (Clarissa), Zachary Ryan Downey (Jessica), Darian Matthew Ryan Boggs, Draven Lazarus Otto Boggs (Jordan), Driften Micah Beane, Delilah Michelle Beane, Cameron Tyler Brooks, Elyza Grace Hays, Uriah Benjamin Hays, Christopher Juston Downey (Julia), Alexa Erin Hall, ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service with military honors for Mr. Raymond Hays is set for 1 PM on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Clyde Ledlow and Kevin Harris will officiate. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Heritage Chapel.
