Steve D. Hawkins, 73, of Calvert City, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health in Paducah.

He was born on June 10, 1953, in Warren, Michigan, to his late parents, Steve C. and Geneva Jane Phillips Hawkins. Steve attended Zion's Cause Baptist Church, and his faith in God and love for his family were his guiding principles. Before making his home in Calvert City, he lived in Possum Trot. Steve dedicated 41 years of service as a chemical operator, retiring from Air Products (now Wacker), and also shared his electrical skills by taking on side jobs as a layman. He found great joy in spending time with his family boating on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes, watching birds, especially majestic eagles, and caring for his beloved dogs, each of which held a special place in his heart.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sheila K. Robinson Hawkins; two daughters, Tonya Garland of Almo, Linda (Bruce) Mayes of Ledbetter; two sons, Ben Wilson of Miami, FL, Chris (Jennifer) Wilson of Brentwood, TN; sister, Terri (Jim) Bryant of Reidland; brother, Todd (Mindy) Hawkins of Paducah; four grandchildren, Brilee Garland, Connor Garland, Charlie Wilson and Robert Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Pat Bass and Janey Nance.
