Dakota "Ogre" Lane, 34, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Dakota was born in Murray, Kentucky, on March 21, 1992, and was a native of Marshall County. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, bow-fishing, and riding four-wheelers. His most loved outdoor hobby was competing in demolition derbies. He enjoyed the competition, the camaraderie, and of course, the wins.
Dakota was an outgoing person and made friends wherever he went. His fun-loving personality and ability to jovially carry on conversations with others are what made him so lovable and friendships so easy. Dakota was an amazing father, and nothing made him prouder than being a father to his baby girl, Alena.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Sarah Aldridge of Benton, Kentucky; one daughter, Alena Lane, also of Benton; three brothers, Joseph Podzielny of Paducah, Dillon Croley (Amber) of Calvert City, Kentucky, and Sean Glover (Shelby) of Possum Trot, Kentucky; his parents, Abraham Glover and Gina Lane Podzielny; maternal grandparents, William Michael and Barbara Lane; and paternal grandmother, Susan Glover.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jacob Glover, and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Glover.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann. Burial will follow at Lyles Cemetery in Brewers.
