Mitchell Ray Hill, age 76, passed away on November 2nd, 2025 at Anna Mae Owen Hospice House in Murray, KY. Mitch was born and raised in Dexter, KY, as the son of the late Arvin and Nadine Hill.
Growing up, he had a love for life that drew people to him. He loved playing softball, which made him friends that would follow him through his life. For 30 years, Mitch dedicated himself to the City of Murray Water/Waste Division as an engineering assistant, bringing the same care and commitment that he did to every part of his life. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of New Zion Baptist Church, where his kindness and welcoming personality were felt by all members.
Mitch's passions were never-ending. He loved horseback riding at Wranglers, camping at Hillman's Ferry, hunting rabbits, telling stories by the campfire, and celebrating all things Western, especially John Wayne. He was always in the mood for milkshakes and would never turn down any of Granny Jo's cooking.
But above all else, he cherished his family, especially the role of Grandpa. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren, laughing, sharing stories, and creating memories that will last forever. Mitch was unapologetically himself-loving, optimistic, and hardworking. He never met a stranger and would treat them as one of his own. He meant the world to those around him.
Although he is no longer with us, his laughter, stories, and generosity will live on in the memories of everyone who met and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Joyce Hill of Benton; his children, Mickey Hill (Beth) of Benton, Trevor Parker (Mary-Beth) of Henderson, and Ashley Wooten (Jimmie) of Benton; and his grandchildren, Mallory Graves, Parker Graves, Chase Hill, Chance Hill, Pacey Parker, Matthew Wooten, and Mason Wooten. He is also survived by his brother, Barry Hill (Kathy) of Dexter, and sisters, Doris Hill and Malissa Young of Dexter.
Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Nadine Hill, his brother Parvin Hill, and his sister Melinda Stone.
Public graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at New Zion Cemetery, Benton, KY, Bro. Mike Littrell and Bro. Calvin Bryant officiating.
