He answered his calling with steady commitment, choosing a life of ministry. For those who knew him, Mark's faith wasn't just preached from the pulpit, it was lived daily through kindness and perseverance. He was deeply proud of his family, especially his grandkids who brought him joy and purpose. He carried their accomplishments in his heart and spoke of them with unmistakable pride. Above all, Mark was devoted to his wife, Carol Shumaker, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage- a partnership marked by love, faith, and loyalty.
Mark retired as a Special Projects Manager from Vulcan Materials in Lake City, KY and was currently employed at Reed Resources. He was a respected member of Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543 and Dycusburg Masonic Lodge #232, a role that reflected his values of brotherhood, service, and integrity. Whether guiding a congregation, supporting his family, or offering wisdom to those who sought him out, Mark lived a life rooted in purpose.
