Judy Slaughter

Judith "Judy" Carol Starks Slaughter, 83, of Hardin, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton, Kentucky.

She was born in Marshall County on January 27, 1943, to the late Hoy Starks and the late Novie Ethridge Starks. Judy worked on the assembly line at Jakel for many years. She was a proud and devoted member of Dexter church of Christ. Judy kept herself constantly busy; she enjoyed crocheting or quilting. When she wasn't making something, she was reading- usually her Bible or Amish Mystery style books. Judy kept her mind sharp by completing word search puzzles and in the rare quiet moment, she enjoyed watching birds and listening to them sing.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Jen Gray (Jack) of Richmond, Kentucky; her son, Jonathan Slaughter of Hardin; and her grandson, Scotty Slaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Billy Starks; as well as two infant brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Collier Funeral Home with John Sales and David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Collier Funeral Home.
