Beverly was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Symsonia High School. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother. Her strong faith in God guided every aspect of her life. She was a dedicated prayer warrior who never spoke ill of anyone and always put the needs of others before her own.
She loved cooking and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. Beverly was known for her unwavering loyalty, kind heart, and generous spirit. She never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. She enjoyed watching classic police shows, taking trips to the beach, fishing, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with her family. She was also an amazing roller skater and hula hooper, talents that brought joy and laughter to those who knew her. To her family, she was simply the best "Granny."
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Gerald Clay; one daughter, Marcia (Mark) Harpole of Clinton, Kentucky; one son, Bruce (Michelle) Clay of Mayfield; two brothers, Gary (Betsey) Davis of Mayfield and Jewell (Debbie) Davis of Folsomdale; one sister, Sabrina (Don) Adams of Troy, Missouri; six grandchildren, Aaron (Kylie) Harpole, Ryan (Tiffani) Harpole, Sarah (Peyton) Lipe, Jackson (Jessica) Clay, and Ashlyn Clay; and eight beloved great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beverly Ann Davis Clay will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Bro. Ronnie Stinson, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Trace Creek Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Harpole, Ryan Harpole, Peyton Lipe, Mark Harpole, Gary Davis, and Jackson Clay.
Mrs. Clay will be remembered for her steadfast faith, selfless love, compassionate heart, and the lasting impact she made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, devotion to family, and unwavering trust in God will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
