Shirley Jean Hardin

Mrs. Shirley Jean (Yates) Hardin, 86, of Salem, KY, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Calvert City Convalescent Center. Shirley was a member of Creekside Baptist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by her son, Harold Wayne Hardin; granddaughters, Amy (Jerrod) Quertermous of Ledbetter, and Erica (Chase) Short of Beaver Dam; two great grandchildren, Anslee Quertermous and Braelyn Short. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold “Red” Hardin; two sisters, Micky Wiggins and Dorothy Brown; one niece, Charlene Woodruff and one nephew, Billy Hardin; and her parents, Guthrie and Hazel Hodge Yates. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 12 Noon, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, with Rev. Jerrod Quertermous officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
