Winter Storm Warning Until 9 PM
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - The National Weather Service continues a winter storm warning for our entire area until 9 pm tonight.

Heavy mixed precipitation is occurring, transitioning into sleet and later to snow. Plan on difficult travel conditions all day, including during the morning commute.

Additional sleet and snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected across southern Illinois east of I-57, and in most of western Kentucky. Higher amounts will occur further east.

Isolated power outages are possible from icing and strong winds.

Strong north winds will gust to 35 mph at times. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times because of blowing sleet and snow.

By sunrise this morning, temperatures will be 40 to 45 degrees colder than yesterday's highs. Single digit wind chills are likely.
