Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn says the agency has suspended its investigations in the 24th Judicial District including the Holly Bobo case.

Gwyn told media that the decision stems from an argument with District Attorney General Matt Stowe.

Gywn said in a statement that Stowe "repeatedly stated he wanted our agency to suspend all activities in his district." He said Stowe's request was clear and heard by others.

Stowe issued a statement Wednesday denying that he asked the TBI to suspend investigations in the district, which includes the counties of Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin and Henry.

Gwyn says he is willing to meet with Stowe to resolve the dispute but as of now TBI investigations in the district, including the kidnapping and slaying of Bobo, are on hold.
