The former City Clerk of Kuttawa is in a Tennessee Jail and will be extradited back to Kentucky after a court appearance.

Kentucky State Police say 40-year-old Katie L. Harrison and her husband, Clayton, were arrested in Tennessee, and the Sevier County Sheriff's Office website lists them as current inmates. Clayton, who is 43, was arrested on November 16 on local charges, and Katie was taken into custody on November 21. They are both charged with being fugitives from justice.

On August 29, the city of Kuttawa issued a statement saying that financial irregularities had been found in their general operating account and community events accounts, and that State Police had issued a warrant for her arrest. She has been listed as a fugitive since that time.

Trooper Jay Thomas from KSP said Wednesday that Tennessee authorities will notify his agency when both Harrisons complete the extradition process. Thomas says Katie's arrest warrant lists 24 counts of forgery 2nd degree. Clayton's arrest warrant is for 10 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree.

The Sevier County Sheriff's Department website says both Harrisons have court appearances on Thursday.
