One out of every four of Kentucky's children live below the poverty level, according to a new report.
Kentucky Youth Advocates' annual Kids Count report says nearly half of Kentucky's children live in homes considered low income.
The study’s health findings were more encouraging; showing mostly decreases over five years in teen births, low birthweight babies, and numbers of uninsured children.
The non-profit's director Terry Brooks says the core issue facing Kentucky's young people is economic well-being.
