An app designed to stop texting and driving is getting the attention of law enforcement officials in Kentucky.

WKYT-TV reports that LifeSaver, the app that blocks a phone's screen while a person is driving, is being praised by authorities in Kentucky as a tool that can prevent car accidents.

LifeSaver Director of Marketing James Howell says the app connects with a phone's GPS and blocks the screen as soon as a car goes in motion.

Woodford County Sheriff Wayne Wright says the app is a great tool because it prevents texting, emailing and other forms of mobile communication while driving. He says he will present the app to the Kentucky Sheriff's Association board meeting next month. He hopes board members will also support it.
