Democratic Senator Julian Carroll has prefiled legislation that would allow sports wagering at any horse racing track or off-track wagering facility.
The
bill requires a majority of the revenue generated from sports betting
to go to the state's ailing pension systems.
Carroll
filed similar bills in the past two legislative sessions, but they
did not get a hearing.
Meanwhile, Indiana is
preparing to offer sports betting beginning Sunday. A majority of the
state's casinos and off-track wagering sites have received temporary
sports betting licenses.
