The Mason Dixon poll shows both Governor Matt Bevin and Attorney General Andy Beshear sitting at 46 percent of the vote with Libertarian John Hicks registering at one percent. Seven percent of those surveyed say they remain undecided.
It's a big gain for Bevin who is up six percent since the last poll in December while Beshear is down two points.
In a regional breakdown, the poll shows Beshear with a wide lead in the Louisville and Lexington metro areas while Bevin leads by double figures in the eastern and western parts of the state. The two men are within two percentage points in northern Kentucky.
