A Kentucky judge says the Democratic attorney general's lawsuit against the Republican governor can go forward.

Attorney General Andy Beshear has sued Gov. Matt Bevin over an executive order reorganizing several boards that govern public education. Wednesday, Bevin's attorneys asked Franklin Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate to dismiss the lawsuit.

Wingate said he will allow the case to continue. He converted Bevin's motion to dismiss into a motion for summary judgment and gave the attorney general's office 20 days to respond. He said he would issue a ruling soon after.
