Gun control advocates rallied in Frankfort to oppose several bills being considered by Kentucky lawmakers.

There was standing room only at the rally, which was organized by the Kentucky chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

The group is opposed to legislation that would allow concealed deadly weapons on college campuses and allow armed marshals in public schools.

Hollan Holm, who survived the 1997 shooting at Heath High School in McCracken County, says the legislation would not have saved lives in the Heath and Marshall County High School shootings.

"SB103 proposes arming teachers and staff at our schools and calling them marshals. This is not a solution that would have saved lives at Heath High School. It would not have saved lives at Marshall County High School," Holm said.

Holm said the General Assembly is trying to put "more guns in more hands of people with less oversight."
