Beginning Monday, officials will begin easing restrictions on non-urgent, emergent healthcare services, diagnostic radiology, and lab testing. This will include healthcare clinics, medical offices, physical therapy, chiropractic offices, optometrists, and dental offices.
Officials say the easing of restrictions will not apply to long-term care facilities, prisons, or other industries.
Under the new guidelines, there will be no visitors allowed except when necessary for end-of-life, those that are vulnerable, and minors. Traditional waiting rooms are still banned and social distancing must be maintained.
All healthcare workers and patients must have their temperatures taken, and will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. All businesses will need to plan for enhanced workplace sanitizing, hand washing, accessible hand sanitizer, and extra personal protective equipment.
All healthcare workers must wear surgical or procedural masks while in the facility, and all patients will be required to wear masks in all healthcare facilities.
Under the new guidelines, in high-touch clinical settings like physical therapy or chiropractic offices, staff must wear non-latex gloves as well as enhanced hand hygiene practices. All surfaces used for the services must be sanitized between patients.
