A Louisville man who formerly lived in Paducah and has convictions in both cities was found dead in his home last Sunday.

According to WAVE-3 News, Louisville Metro Police began investigating a homicide on January 19, and the Jefferson County Coroner's office released the victim's name as 62-year-old Darrell Buford. He was found dead in his Symington Circle home just before noon, and foul play is suspected. Police said Buford had been shot.

The Kentucky Sex Offender Registry shows that Buford was convicted of sodomy and sexual abuse of a 14-year-old victim in 2011, and served a short sentence in Jefferson County.

While in Paducah, Buford was the owner of Security Taxi Cab Company. He was convicted in McCracken County Court for sexual crimes involving family members in 1993, but served less than ten percent of that sentence.

According to WAVE-3, no arrests have been made in the homicide investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD.

Buford's funeral is scheduled for Monday in Paducah.
