UPDATE:

A Dawson Springs man was at work Wednesday morning, when he realized that he was holding a one million dollar winning Kentucky Lottery ticket from the drawing on Tuesday night.

The winner, 65-year-old Ronnie Parker, helps his son-in-law with his towing service. They were working Wednesday morning with an overturned truck. During the process, a deputy sheriff told them that someone that purchased their ticket in Madisonville at Wicks Well Market and Deli, had won a million dollars in the Tuesday night lottery drawing. He told the deputy that he had, in fact, bought a single, $2 ticket, at that location. The deputy then called the winning numbers up on his phone, and Parker discovered he was holding the winning ticket.

He then went to the Madisonville store and had the ticket scanned. The clerk told Parker, "oh yeah, you've won it!'

He then called his son and told him he was on his way back to pick him up, and they would go to Louisville to claim the prize.

Parker said he doesn't have immediate plans for his winnings, but did say that he lives paycheck to paycheck, and that the extra money will really help him. He said, "I'm happy because I know I've got it."

Wicks Well Market and Deli, in Madisonville, will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
