Adams wants to remind the public of some of the measures the state has taken to curb voter fraud due to the large amount of absentee voters this election. The website requires voters to verify their identity with their date of birth and social security number, the ballot envelopes will have bar codes for tracking, and election officials will be verifying that each signature on absentee ballot envelopes match the voter's signature on record.
Voters can also obtain an absentee ballot from a county clerk in-person or by phone, fax, or email. Adams says their absentee ballots are treated securely and secretly as any other ballot, and can be delivered by a voter personally to the clerk's office, or mailed.
The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is Monday, June 15.
