According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the first was a magnitude 2.3, centered 3.7 miles east of Marston and 25 miles south of Sikeston, at 3:10 am.
Later at 6:54 am, a second quake, measuring 2.0, was centered seven miles east of Greenville, and 43 miles west northwest of Sikeston.
The USGS says that a quake of 2.5 is the threshold of humans being able to detect the ground shaking.
No damage has been reported from these earthquakes.
