Two small earthquakes have been reported in southeast Missouri this weekend.

The first, a magnitude 3.0 was reported Saturday morning, and the second, a magnitude 2.3 occurred on Sunday evening.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the Saturday quake, at 8:55 am, was centered 2.7 miles southwest of Lilbourn, and about 22 miles south of Sikeston.

The Sunday quake, at 8:40 pm, was centered 3.5 miles south of Tallapoosa, and 20.3 miles northeast of Kennett.

That's the same area that experienced five quakes within 24 hours on September 30th, and about 15 tremors in the past month.

The USGS says that a quake of 2.5 is the threshold of humans being able to detect the ground shaking.

No damage has been reported from this weekend's earthquakes.
