The newspaper reports that the patient recently returned from West Africa, citing a hospital spokesperson at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, located south of metro St. Louis.
The patient is considered low risk and is in isolation in a separate facility used for outpatient surgery on the hospital campus.
The 251-bed hospital is working in collaboration with the health department.
