A blown tire is being blamed for an accident in southeast Missouri that killed three children from Mississippi.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 55 near Hayti. The accident killed 13-year-old Brandaeja Cason, 10-year-old Demaggio Gaines and an infant, Javon Cason. All were from Jackson, Miss. Seven others who were in the Ford Expedition were seriously injured. The patrol report says no one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt or child restraint device.
The patrol says that the vehicle was heading south when it blew a tire, ran off the road and rolled several times. The occupants were all thrown out of the vehicle.
