Win a GMC Truck in KSP Trooper Island Raffle

The Kentucky State Police, Post 1 Mayfield and Trooper Island Inc. have announced theiR 2015 Trooper Island Raffle to help raise funding for the Trooper Island Children´s Camp.

The Kentucky State Police Trooper Island raffle features a vehicle ready for work or play this year. Newly re-designed and re-engineered for 2015, the GMC Sierra 1500 SLE pickup includes an Sonoma Red Metallic exterior and Jet Black interior; a four-door, air conditioned crew cab with heated, leather front seats; a 5.3L V8 SIDI engine with 355 horsepower; a six-speed automatic transmission with 4-wheel drive; electric power steering and a five-year/100,000 mile power train limited warranty.  

Tickets are only $10 each. For a chance to put this truck to work in your family or business fleet, contact any Kentucky State Trooper, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer or any of the 16 KSP posts located throughout the state. Only 20,000 tickets will be sold. 

To purchase a ticket you may stop by the Kentucky State Police Post located at 8366 ST RT 45 North in Hickory or by contacting any Kentucky State Police Trooper or Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer.

The winning ticket will be drawn on August 30th at the Kentucky State Fair. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawing to win. Raffle winner is responsible for all tax and license fees.

All proceeds go to Trooper Island Inc, a summer camp for children, which is located on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls age 10-12, financed entirely by donations - no public funds are used. Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children, providing good food, fresh air, recreation, guidance and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers. It is a place where the tensions and turmoil of everyday lives can be forgotten; and for one week young people can be given a touch of hope and desire of a better tomorrow. 

There is no cost to the campers who attend Trooper Island and there are no restrictions based on race, creed or color. 
The camp gets some of its funding through activities the 16 Kentucky State Police post put on during the year. The Mayfield Post also raises funds for Trooper Island by hosting the Scott Lathram Memorial, Trooper Island Golf Tournament each year. This year’s golf tournament is scheduled for September 3 at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
