Here are election totals for Legislative races in our area:

I = Incumbent 


State Senate (2nd District)

Republican Danny Carroll (I)- 28,252 votes

Democrat Julie Tennyson- 16,428 votes



State Representative (1st District)

Republican Steven Rudy (I)- 11,050 votes

Democrat Desiree Owens- 5,445 votes



State Representative (2nd District)

Republican Richard Heath (I)- 10,880 votes

Democrat Charlotte Goddard- 4,922 votes



State Representative (3rd District)

Republican Randy Bridges - 7,484 votes

Democrat Martha Emmons- 6,553 votes

Bridges turned the district red with the win. The district was re-drawn to favor Democrats several years ago and Democrat Gerald Watkins has held the office since the 2012 election. 



State Representative (4th District)

Republican Lynn Bechler (I)- 10,003 votes

Democrat Abigail Barnes- 5,763 votes



State Representative (5th District)

Republican Larry Elkins- 9,326 votes

Democrat David Ramey- 6,739 votes

Elkins wins the race to replace Republican Rep. Kenny Imes, who just won the race for Calloway County Judge-Executive - the position Elkins has held for 20 years.



State Representative (6th District)

Republican Chris Freeland- 12,236 votes

Democrat Linda Story Edwards- 6,727 votes

Freeland flips this seat with the win, replacing Democrat Will Coursey, who decided not to run for re-election. Instead, Coursey ran for Marshall Co. Judge-Executive, but lost to incumbent Kevin Neal.
