The recently predicted winter weather event due to hit our area mid-week, has prompted Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area to push back the season opening of campgrounds and facilities for the safety of our guests.

The Elk & Bison Prairie will re-open Tuesday, March 3. The following attractions and facilities previously scheduled to open for the season March 4, will now re-open Wednesday, March 11, weather permitting:
· North and South Welcome Stations
· Woodlands Nature Station and Homeplace 1850’s Farm
· Developed Campgrounds – Energy, Hillman Ferry, Piney, and Wranglers

Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle Area will remain closed until weather and soil conditions greatly improve.

Many side roads were not treated following the previous winter weather event and are still ice and snow packed. Please drive slowly and use caution when driving through the area.
