An undercover drug operation conducted by the Graves and McCracken county sheriff’s departments Friday night resulted in three arrests.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, detectives conducted undercover drug purchases on two different occasions Friday from 43-year-old Penny Hamrick of Mayfield. A search warrant was obtained on a home on North 8th Street in Mayfield. Hamrick, 48-year-old Russell Anglin of Mayfield and 40-year-old Thomas Leachman Jr. of Louisville were found inside.

While officers were inside the home, numerous glass pipes used for smoking methamphetamine were found, along with some meth, cutting agent, digital scales and baggies. A small amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales was also recovered.

Hamrick and Anglin were each charged with two counts of trafficking more than two grams of methamphetamine, two counts of trafficking controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hamrick also faces a charge of tampering with physical evidence. Leachman Jr. was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were lodged in the Graves County Jail.
