Two people were arrested in Carlisle County Saturday on drug and burglary charges.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a burglary in progress call in the 400 Block of Front Street in Bardwell. Deputies arrived but did not find anyone in the home. Deputies said the home had been entered and a tire tool was found at the scene that may have been used to open the door.

During the investigation, deputies learned that 40-year-old James West and 35-year-old Dusty McGary had broken into the home. Deputies later found McGary at a home in the 100 block of Hobbs Street in Arlington. She was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies found West hiding in the home. He was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the room that West was hiding in revealed a bag with a methamphetamine pipe and a baggy with residual amounts of methamphetamine.

Both were lodged at the Ballard County Jail on charges of 2nd degree burglary. McGary was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

West was additionally charged with possession of controlled substance 3rd offense a class and possession of drug paraphernalia. West is currently serving probation for two previous methamphetamine possession charges from separate incidents earlier this year.
