Trial Set for Carlisle County Clerk
By West Kentucky Star Staff
BARDWELL, KY - Carlisle County Clerk Michael Toon was in court Monday, facing charges related to an arrest last year.

According to the Carlisle County Circuit Court Clerk, the 37-year-old Toon of Bardwell entered a guilty plea to a DUI charge from October. At that time, Toon was pulled over by State Police for a traffic violation and failed a field sobriety test. He was jailed for the DUI and for drunkenness of a public official.

On Monday, the traffic violation was dismissed along with a charge for not having an insurance card. However, Toon is challenging the drunkenness charge, and a trial date of May 2 was set.

Toon was also arrested on December 13 by the Hardin County Sheriff's Department for DUI and reckless driving.
