Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Trafficking Charges

A man faces multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Marshall County Monday.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says a deputy observed a vehicle weaving on the roadway and conducted a traffic stop on US 641 South. When the driver, Justin Dill of Evansville, was asked to step out of the vehicle, the deputy reportedly saw a small hard case in the his back pocket, which ended up being a set of digital scales. According to police, Dill also pulled a bag out of his pocket that contained six grams of marijuana.

The deputy then searched Dill and allegedly found a methamphetamine pipe with residue inside it and some rolling papers, along with a zip lock bag that contained seven Hydrocodone pills, seven Carisoprodol pills, eight Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine pills and six Clonazepam pills. Another bag allegedly contained seven Oxycodone pills.

During the search of the vehicle, the deputy allegedly found 56 grams of marijuana in a mason jar, 137 grams of bagged methamphetamine, a marijuana cigarette, a set of digital scales, some zip-lock bags, rolling papers and $990 cash.

Dill was arrested and charged with trafficking meth, trafficking marijuana, trafficking controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
