Traffic Stop Leads to Drug, Gun Charges

Two people face drug and gun charges following a traffic stop in Mayfield Wednesday.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on Commonwealth Drive. The vehicle was occupied by 21-year-old Daniel Crump and 21-year-old Jasmine Seay.

During a search of the vehicle, police found guns, knives, drugs, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and ski masks. Crump and Seay were arrested and taken to the Graves County Jail. Inside the jail, Seay was searched and deputies found a pipe that reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

Crump was charged with failure to wear a seat belt, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Seay was charged with failure to wear a seat belt, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and promoting contraband.
