Two Trigg County men were arrested Sunday on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Cadiz Police pulled over a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Christopher Wayne Smith of Cadiz, and learned that his license was suspended. A canine officer indicated there were drugs in the vehicle, so it was searched.

Police say a bag containing a small amount of methamphetamine was found in the driver's door, so he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, having a suspended license, license plate not illuminated, and no insurance card.

A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Daniel Heinricy of Cadiz, was arrested after a police say a bag was found that contained marijuana and residue from capsules believed to be Adderall, a narcotic. He was charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. Heinricy also faces a contempt of court charge because he was free on bond through Trigg District Court, and this arrest violated the bond agreement.
