A wreck on Interstate 24 early Sunday morning sent three people to the hospital and killed a horse.

WKDZ reports that Christian County Sheriff’s deputies said just before 1 a.m. Ashira Gardner of Bowling Green hit the horse with her car about a mile from the Pembroke Oak Grove Road exit of I-24 near the Kentucky-Tennessee state line.

The crash caused the horse to roll over the top of her car and hit a second car driven by Nicole Wellsted of Cadiz.

Both drivers and a passenger in Wellsted’s car were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
