Marshall County officials are reminding their neighbors of area counseling centers that are available for anyone affected by the recent shootings in Benton and in Parkland, Florida.
Temporary counseling centers were set up immediately after the shootings at Marshall County High School on January 23. They have since closed, but there are still other options available.
In a Thursday press release, Marshall County Emergency Management said, "Due to the tragic incident at the Florida School, we want to reassure our community that if this causes any problems with our children, teachers, or family members, or responders, please reach out to any of the listed agencies for assistance."
Those agencies are:
Four Rivers Behavioral Health, which has a 24/7 Crisis Line at 1-800-592-3980
Mountain Comprehensive Care, Mental Health Outpatient Clinic at 145 Vine Street in Draffenville will be open Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Call 270-252-9432 for information or an appointment.
Child Watch Counseling and Advocacy Center of Paducah can be reached at 270-443-1440 for more information. They offer free counseling services for children.
