Kentucky State Police, along with local law enforcement and the mother of Trooper Cameron Ponder, gathered on Thursday to remember the fallen trooper.

Trooper Joseph ‘Cameron’ Ponder was fatally shot on Sept. 13, 2015 while conducting a routine traffic stop on Interstate 24 in Lyon County.  Shortly thereafter, a flagpole was erected at the site of the shooting. Around the flagpole, many flowers and other remembrances have been placed over the past two years.

On Thursday, on the third anniversary, KSP gathered with fellow law enforcement family and Cameron’s mother, to place a wreath in remembrance of Trooper Ponder’s life and sacrifice.
