State Police Arrest Texas Woman On Drug Charges

State police arrested a Texas woman Wednesday on drug charges after a traffic stop in Lyon County.

According to Kentucky State Police, Troopers stopped the vehicle around 3 p.m. for a traffic violation on Interstate 24. Troopers said that during the stop they found about three ounces of cocaine along with around an ounce of codeine. Police say the street value of the drugs is $4000.

A passenger of the vehicle, 32-year-old Britany Avery of Travis, TX was arrested and charged with first degree trafficking cocaine and third degree possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
