Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a one vehicle crash Saturday night near Midway.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said 25-year-old Kevin Pond, of Buchanan, TN, was traveling on US Highway 641 when he lost control of his pickup truck at the intersection of Midway Road. Pond's truck traveled across the road and struck items for sale at the antique shop at the corner of US Hwy 641 and Tobacco Road. Pond's truck then struck a billboard sign post and a tree before coming to rest in a creek.

Pond was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed by mechanical means. He was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
