There was an increased police presence at Marshall County North and South Middle Schools Monday morning.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said their office was contacted by a parent that had seen a threat on social media to "North and South." Although it appeared to be from a different county, the Sheriff's Office said they and Marshall County Schools take any threat seriously.

After investigating, deputies said the threat came from a different county, involves different schools and has been turned over to that jurisdiction.

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars said the threat involved Henderson County middle schools and police there are investigating.
