The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for western Kentucky along and east of the lakes area until 8pm.
Western Kentucky counties included in the watch are Calloway, Lyon, Trigg, Caldwell, and Christian.
A severe thunderstorm watch means that conditions are favorable for severe storms to develop, including the chance for large hail and damaging winds.
