Several new cases of COVID-19 were reported in western Kentucky and Southern Illinois on Tuesday, and one new death was reported in Union County.

The Purchase District Health Department confirmed several additional cases  of COVID-19 on Tuesday, including four in McCracken County, one in Fulton County, and two in Ballard County. One individual had been added in error to Hickman County. That individual was removed from the count for Hickman County and has now been added to Fulton County. 

McCracken County has 97 individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19, Ballard has 12, Carlisle has five, Hickman has four, and Fulton has seven, bringing the total number of cases to 125. The Purchase District Health Department is currently reporting a total of  97 recoveries and three deaths.

The Marshall County Health Department said it had no new cases to report. The number of cases in Marshall County remains at 36 cases, with 33 recoveries and two deaths.

In Southern Illinois, the Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) announced 17 new cases of the virus and one additional death. The new cases include three individuals in Alexander County, one in Johnson County, one in Pulaski County, and 12 in Union County. The individual who died was a woman in her 70's from Union County.

Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 255 positive cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region, with 97 recoveries and 12 deaths. All 12 deaths have been in Union County.
