Scooper Bowl Raises $3,600 for Charities
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MURRAY, KY - Organizers of the "Scooper Bowl" charity fundraiser at the Murray Ice Cream Festival have announced how much was raised.

Tim Stark from Murray Bank said the grand total was $3,600, which means that each of the four charities will receive $900. The bank plans to present the checks to the organizations later this week.

This year's participating charities were West Kentucky Youth Mentoring, Way of Wellness, Soup for the Soul, and Kirksey United Methodist Church, which collects money for the Wounded Warrior backpack program.

Stark thanked the Calloway County High School FBLA for helping with setup, cleanup, and working in the booths during the event.

Last year's Scooper Bowl raised about $1,000 for each of the charities that participated.
