Redmon Pleads Not Guilty During Arraignment
By West Kentucky Star Staff
HOPKINSVILLE - Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon was back in court Wednesday.

Redmon entered a not guilty plea to charges of official misconduct and first degree possession of a controlled substance during his arraignment Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court. Redmon was indicted on those charges in August. He's accused of stealing hydrocodone from the sheriff department's drug drop box.

Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins ruled that Redmon can continue to perform his administrative duties as sheriff, such as collecting taxes, but he is not to have any weapons and can't perform any law enforcement duties until his case has ended. Atkins was named special judge in the case after Graves Circuit Judge Tim Stark recused himself.

A pre-trial conference is set for Nov. 7 at 11:00 am.
