A Hopkinsville police officer is behind bars himself after police say he has been charged with sexual abuse.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, they received allegations involving 32-year-old HPD officer Ian Damber. The Hopkinsville Police Department immediately notified Kentucky State Police, so they could investigate the allegations.
According to Kentucky State Police, Damber has been charged with five counts of first degree sexual abuse after they investigated allegations of sexual contact with a minor.
Damber was arrested by troopers and is currently in the Christian County Jail. Police say the charges are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison if convicted. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
Damber has been with the Hopkinsville Police Department since 2013.
