Police: Man with Handgun Threatens Ex-girlfriend

A man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened a woman in Murray on Sunday night.

According to the Murray Police Department, officers responded to a local restaurant to meet with a woman who said she was threatened with a handgun by her ex-boyfriend, Billy J. Puckett. The woman told officers that Puckett brandished a handgun from the center console of the vehicle they were in, chambered a round, and then verbally threatened her.

Police said the woman was able to flee from the vehicle and hide until officers arrived.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Puckett, and he was located by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Puckett was arrested by Murray police officers and charged with one count of 1st degree wanton endangerment and one count of 3rd degree terroristic threatening. He was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
