Officials have moved up the date of a planned power outage for Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation customers in north Livingston County.

A planned outage for maintenance to the cooperative's infrastructure will be moved from Sunday to Thursday. The outage will begin at noon on Thursday and is expected to last four hours.

The outage will affect about 800 members. All members who receive power from the cooperative's Joy substation and those members who receive power from the Hampton circuit out of the Burna substation will be affected. The area includes River Road, Cave Springs Road, Hampton-Joy Road, and Lola Road.

"Severe weather is expected this weekend," said JPEC president and CEO Dennis Cannon. "In the interest of reliability for our Livingston County member-owners, we are moving the maintenance work up to Thursday."

JPEC members who have questions about the planned outage can call the cooperative's office at 270-442-7321 or 800-633-4044.
